I have a great dealer but I have a bit of a concern. I go thru many spring tines for the dethatcher attatchment. These little buggers have gone thru the roof in price and I have a couple of questions for you guys.
How much do you pay for the Walker Brand of replacement tine?
Have you found a suitable substitute anywhere and if so where and for how much?

Truthfully it costs me about the price of a new attatchment every year in replacement tines so I am not talking small change.
I don't need any chastising from you guys on how I should support the dealer, hell he has a brand new store that he moved another 10 miles from me. No, hes a good dealer but I am looking at my bottom line and want to see what you guys do.
They are over $8.00 a set now and rising. Any help from my friends?

Check Sears parts. I use a Sears tractor rake on my Walker. Made mount

bar cost $110. vs 250 for Walker. The tines appear the same. Ed

Ed, I've never broken any on mine and I have picked up a few used dethatchers at auctions for $25.oo so I have lots of spares. I have built dethatchers and got my tines at TSC. I just took a Walker one and compared them to the cheapest ones there. I think they were for a John Deere hay bailer.
