Walker Kohler CH25S Swap Question

I have a Kohler CH25S on a Walker MTGHS mower (circa 2000) and I would like to swap the engine with a newer Kohler CH25s Spec 685-01 that I found locally. The newer engine has a short shaft coming out of the opposite side of the flywheel, which I obviously won't be using so I will likely cut it off. My question is: Am I able to take my PTO pulley off the older engine and bolt it directly to the new motor's flywheel? Is there a shaft that bolts on to the flywheel? Am I likely going to have to actually swap the flywheels as well as the dust covers?

I don't have the spec # for the old engine since the label is worn down, probably too much power washing.

There is a stub shaft that bolts to the flywheel, It should go right onto the new engine however the blower and cover may have to be used from the old engine but the screen will have to be. Without the old engine spec # I'm not sure on the blower/cover....

Call Walker. Give them the model and year and serial number of the Walker and they can tell you the spec number of the engine they put in it. We have to do that all the time. Walker keeps very good records.
