Hey everyone, I have a 1998 Walker MT, 20 hp kohler carburated. When I go to start you can hear the fuel shut-off solenoid clicking like it should, but no power to the exciter wire going to the starter when you turn the key to the start position. Battery is fine. I'm kind of at a loss as to what to look for on this thing. No cut wires or bad grounds that I can see. Anything I should check for that normally goes wrong on these machines? As far as I know the safteys on the machine are good....however, is there any way to test them??

With a test light, check to see if you have power to the switch leg of the solenoid when the switch is turned to the start position. If you have power there but no power at the starter lug, your solenoid is likely bad. If you have no power to the switch leg, the switch is defective--a bad contact in the switch. This presumes that the wiring is OK and the OPC switches are operational.

If you do a search of the site, you will likely find a more complete explanation if the above is not clear.
