If you cut off all of the thorns on this tree, will they grow back?
And, why does it have thorns?
Gene, sounds like wrong tree in the wrong place. Hawthorns have thorns, some larger than others, but that is a characteristic of Hawthorns. I have never heard of anyone removing the thorns, so your own your own on that one.
I planted a thornless washington hawthorne. Nice tree.
