I am trying to design two boulder walls one would be around 4 feet high and about four feet behind that i would have one two feet high at one end of the wall I would like to have a water fall and a small pond that would star at the base of the wall. The drop to the pound would be about 3 to 4 feet. Has anyone done this before or have any ideas that may help.My other option would be to build the wall out of flag stone and just add boulders around the fall and pound area I think this may be easier because I have to take boulders back into the property about 600 yards down a hill. would using big boulders around flat lime stone look odd?

If the boulders were heavy enough, you may want to put concrete beneath so the walls don't settle into the ground from weight.

Do you mean big boulders, or "rocks"? Size?
