Our county extension agent claims you can spray Round Up over Wave Petunias for weed control without harming the Petunias. Sounds to good to be true. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Footnote: Supposedly Round Up ready soybeans share some specific genetics with Petunias.

    yeah, they wave goodbye

It really depends on the rate of roundup you use(ig 1oz per gallon vs 2oz per gallon and the weeds you are spraying and whether the petunias are under stress. read the label and get the agents suggestion in writing so you can make him buy your new crop

Obviously, the rate of Round Up applied will affect results. What I'm asking is very specific. Are Wave Petunias more resistant to Round Up (accidentaly or intentionally applied) than most comparable bedding plants? Has anybody observed Wave Petunias resisting an application of Round Up?
