weed identification

    hey guys what weed is this? i know the picture isnt that great but hopefully you can make out what it is? I havnt hit it with any herbicides yet until i make a positive i d. thanks Dave

    Poughkeepsie NY? Does it brown out early in fall? Lots of rhizomes and stolens? Creeps? My guess is Bermuda grass. A tough customer.

    I agree with Riggle, that looks like it is bermuda.

    Along the same lines as Bermuda...Zoysia. Different grass same problems.

    I agree, probably a native bermuda. it should be pretty well domant by now and leaving what look like gapeing holes in the lawn

    mostly kbg, rye and fescue, bermuda isnt popular but the lawn was from the 1950's so it has a many types of grass

    Are there any good recommendations to kill this bermuda grass without effecting the other grasses...?

    Without some major focus on the photo, it appears to be the common Bermuda (Cynodon Dactylon) variety. It can even be Nimblewill, as it favors and looks the same as Bermuda.. Hard for me to tell with that picture...!
