Anyone here done weed torching to get rid of unsightly weeds? Last year, we did weed pulling. For the most part we did it when it was raining, or had rained and was not sunny and dried up yet. We were hoping this would let the roots come up easier. Unfortunately, with heavy clay soils, it is still damn near impossible to get the root up without it breaking. I've read about torching the weeds, but what I heard was that you have to do it multiple times because the weeds kind of die off, but then they are back growing a week or so later so you have to hit them again (and maybe AGAIN, another week or so later). I also saw a product recently that resembles a weed puller, but it instead pokes a metal rod into the weed and shoots a jolt of electricity into the weed and supposedly kills it. I'm wondering if anyone has tried this. I'm worried it will be the same as torching, where you have to do it 3-4 times to work. Also, as for the iron-based weed killing liquids like "Weed B Gone" they haven't worked for me well. with established broadleaf weeds, they kill off the vegetation above the soil, then you see new vegetation growing in a week or so later and have to do it again, over and over. and they don't treat many patchweeds either, which is annoying for using sprays.
