Weed Seeds in Cracked Corn?

I put down some chick cracked corn(more finely ground than regular cracked corn) about 10 days ago and I'm noticing a bunch of new weeds cropping up. Is it possible that there were weed seeds in the cracked corn, or is it just a coincidence? I had put the corn down to treat brown patch fungus on my lawn. We had a few days of very damp and cool weather, which I believe caused the fungus.

Thanks in advance for your input.

It possible that there where some weed seeds in the cracked corn, but more than likely the wet weather, along with the fertilizing effect of the corn, has sprouted weed seeds that where alreadly there.
