wondering if any one has ever modified there trimmer so that the throttle is controlled by the thumb insted of the pointer. im not talking about flipping the handle over but moving the trigger. i kind of get a little carpulltunel from using my finger. i ride snowmobiles and 4 wheelers alot and i like using my thumb.

I would think that if you did change it to your thumb that your thumb would wear out faster. Just because you are pushing down with your thumb, instead of pulling up with your finger. When you are pulling up with your finger your using the weight of the trimmer with you and thus you don't have to make that much of an effect.

But if you used to the thumb action I guess that best thing to do would be to try it out.
