if your mowing customer signs up for weekly mowing service and in the middle of the summer the grass is not growing, how are you handleing this.

skip it for next week, mow it and charge?

Try to time your other services to fill voids such as these:

    Shrubs
    Gutters
    Edging
    Beds
    Mulch/Straw
You should be able to find something...

I would not skip services, stay with you schedule. Blow the hard surfaces, what area is Zone 01748?

hopkinton,ma not sure what zone it is.

those are excellent services i plan on provideing, however just curious about "the weekly mowings". how are most of your contract worded. most guys are usiing 26 weeks for seasonal contracts, but what if you miss a week here or there because of no rain?

    GC,

The point was to plan to complete the services I listed for the time you were referring to. As you approach a slow time, you will ready your self "one week" to do the gutters. You will then be able to hit the lawn the following week. Then, you will hit the shrubs next week and then the lawn again the following. There is a month right there!

Don't be overly concerned with "weekly MOWINGS", concern yourself with taking care of the property and it's landscape. Get creative with your planning and scheduling to make your visits flow evenly and productively, while the taking care of the customer.

We are in a trasition zone down here. So as the Fescues slow in the summer, the warm season grasses begin to flourish, but there is still a slight slow period. We plan on emphasizing shrubs, gutters, straw and weeds during this time.
