I have close to 20 accounts and I havent spent a dime on marketing, except business cards (around $50). I knocked on doors and passed out cards when the moment was right. I spent about $3800. I got:

    srm-230 Echo Trimmer $300
    pe-230 Echo Edger $300
    pb-251 Echo Blower $175
    BOP Quick 32 Samurai $2759
Jungle Jim's Triminator II Trimmer Rack $96
    Folding ramps $60
    gas cans $20
gloves, hat, hearing protection, safety glasses $40
    1000 business cards from vistaprint.com

Im working out of the back of my truck (which I got for $1500 a couple years ago). Everything fits perfectly and I didnt have to spring for a trailer. Im doing 98% residential.

so....98% residential means you have one commercial account and 49 residentials....looks like you've been busy

I started with a snapper pro hydro 36 in w/b, shindiawa m242 with trimmer and edger attachment, echo pb 200 and a 12' x 86" single axle trailer for a little less than 5,000. So roughly the same amount as you, just with an extra 1200 for a trailer. Good job bud, great minds think alike!!

What do you think would have happen IF you put an ad in the local news paper ?
