This was my first try at a website. Tell me what you think, I wont be one of those people who ask an opinion then get all worked up when it bad. I dont know anything about code so i'm sure its bad, but I had to have a website because I had it put on my biz cards.

Not to bad for your first go around.

Only suggestion would to try different font's. My eyes had a hard time following as I read.

How should I change it, maybe bold? Or a more easily readable text.

Yes, hard to read (background), repetitive pictures, layout problems, confusing, no header, code is a mess.

One would think there could be at least one site builder that could generate valid code.

What do you mean by no header? The pictures will be fixed when I take more in the spring. What did you find confusing?

Thanks for taking a look by the way.

Nothing above the menu, looks odd and out of place.

For example, the services page uses all the same font type and size, and it is difficult to distinguish between what is a title and what is a list item. Furthermore, some of the wording is also confusing, especially with the lists side by side like that.

The contact page is obviously a plugin, and you should either change the rest of the fonts to match, or change that page. Personally I would go with a smaller font size and face all around.

Also, don't really understand the purpose of have a CSS markup, just to do the stying inline.

Neither the code or CSS validates, which could be part of the layout problem.

Nothing above the menu? Does it not say bottoms lawn & tree above the menu? What is css markup?

I'll give you the cut and paste response + a screenshot.

    1) Code is not valid. Please validate!!

    2) Mixture of hardcoded style, inline style, linked style is a NIGHTMARE.
Separation of style and content is the recommended way to maintain your code.

    3) Limited or no document structure/outline

    4) Limited or no accessibility compliance

When I look at my site this is the header. Why is it not showing up on your screen? How can I fix that?

Thanks soooo much and sorry for all the questions.

It is in the code, and I tried it in another browser and it is there.
Could be one of my extensions messing it up, or it could be the invalid code.

Also, no DTD might also be the problem. :nono:

All these little bugs go away when you use valid code.
