Just got my scag wb and after using it all day my hands seemed to hurt alot. Would a pair of gloves help this. I was thinking about some mechanics gloves. You think that would help my hands? Any ideas?

That's what calluses are for.:p I've never used gloves for my WB's because they would bug me, but if I ever did I'd try some type of lightly padded gloves without fingers (cut-off).

Usually I'm not a glove person either, and my hands are always tore up. Doesn't bother me. I just got my hands in mid season form before the switch. I'm just looking for something to tide me over until I can get them used to using the SCAG.

I only use gloves when I prune shrubs with thorns or use the chain saw.

I use gloves all the time when I mow. I have a couple of pair...some with fingers some without. I use either heavily padded bicyclist cloves or Impact gloves from Mechanix.

I never used to wear them, but once i started, I'll never give them up. :waving:

The Mechanix gloves were the ones that I was thinking about getting. You think they really make a difference?

Oh yea they will. But you have to get the impact ones...the ones that have more padding. I began by using just the regular mechanix type and then upgraded to the padded ones. BIG difference. Go to your local bike shop and get a pair with no fingers and lots of padding in the palm. You'll see!

I use the home depot orange ones they are about 7 bucks and well worth it. They are really nice once they get worn in a little

Yes they do! I have a wb too andi didnt use gloves last year and i had a ton of calauses. This year i use a pair of mechanics gloves my dad got from work. Dont get them without fingers or you will stil get calauses on the tips of your fingers. the only bad thing is if you mow all day long in the sun with them you wil get a tan line. Make sure if you get a pair they are tight fitting tho!
