How low do you guys cut the grass ??
99% of mine are cut at 3.5"
My one 6 acre weed lawn is SCALPED at 2.75" !!!
Of course you will have different grass types than me in Tennessee. But I do not go any lower than 3". Most of my accounts are at 3.5" or higher!
Most are from 3.25" to 3.75".
I cut mostly Centipede . 90% are cut at 2.25" . A few are cut at 2" and one is 2.5".
2.25" to 4" with the varying types of grass here.
Most common heights are 2.75 and 3 inches. But I mow several accounts at 2.25 and a couple empty where I don't even lower the deck, just knock the long grass down. It all depends on the quality, type and terrain of the turf.
Cutting St. Augustine mostly, we are at 4.25 on most of the thicker lawns this time of year. Some are still at 3.75-4 though. The bahias are cut usually at 3.5 this time of year.
3"- 4"........NEVER lower than 2.5" and that's only in the fall during leaf clean up.
