Here's the numbers on the cemetery repair:

    112.5 total man hours
    $1600 in materials

    What would YOU charge?

A cool mil. If that don't wash maybe 10-15K depending on how much time was "wasted".

$1600 your cost or list? I'm assuming your cost.

And what did you tell them you charge? did you tell them your regular rates or a discount?

    1600 is cost

65 per man-hour plus materials, thinking about discount because they are a good customer, on the other hand we went thru he!! on this one. There wasn't much wasted time, and no travel time included. Doesn't include any extra for 521 or pulser, nor time spent offsite discussing problems with vendor, Hunter techline, or here.

$7312.5 plus appx. $3200 for materials - give or take a few hundred on materials

Good job landing that one. Good chunk of coin.

I forget, was this lightning related or previous contractor incompetence?

    400% markup on parts.

and straight time for labor...round it off to 100 man hours if you feel generous or you think they will complain...

Your numbers are right where I'm at, with a little off on materials. Total invoice = $10, 143.50.

Real nice chunk of coin, especially as slow as new installs are right now. I usually do 2/week, been averaging 5 per month.

This was both lightning and previous incompetence.

  8. Well I'd break down the man hours between LI hours and lower cost laborer hours. If it was all LI hours the labor charge alone from me would be over 10,000.
