 I have a Stihl FS 88 trimmer that is 10-11 years old and about to quit running. I have always used and loved the Stihl brand, but was wondering if there are any other brands out there you are using and really like. It would be nice to replace this trimmer with a 4-Stroke!

The new 4 mix Stihl is just awesome. The power can't be compared. I bought one about 2 weeks ago and its a beast.

From what I can tell from all the dealers in the Memphis area, about $330 give or take a little based on your dealer.

They screwed up on pricing mine, so it doesn't really count.

Does it take the identical mix used in the regular 2-cycle trimmers?

Yes, it uses the same fuel mixture. No smoke and night/day difference in power. It is not as loud either.

Ok, I'm sorry but what does 4-mix mean? Whats the advantage?

I'm shopping and the best deal I found is a new Kawasaki 26A, 26cc , for under $200. Was told it's a commercial unit, super light, I was going to buy it today.
I can't bring myself to spend $300. on a string trimmer.

The Kawasaki 26A sounds like a good deal. What size engine does it have? I kind of agree with spending $300 on a string trimmer. I do want to buy a good product, but also want to buy a profitable product. If I can get by with a $200 or less trimmer, I will buy it.
