what is the name of this decorative grass?

    Hard to tell from that photo.....miscanthus sinensis, or "morning light" would be my guess.
    Do the blades have white leaf margins making it look silver from a distance?

    We need a better pic.

    Doesn't look like it's seeded out, or, if it has, it has been planted in horrible conditions and isn't growing well.

    i dont think its supposed to spread i think its supposed to just grow in a bunch like that. hmm i could take another pic i suppose if you need it. i googled those grasses you suggested and they didnt look right..

    Judging by the decline (if the pic is up to date) then it's a reed grass of some sort.
