What is the proper way to install pine needles over old mulch beds

    Have client who needs old mulch beds covered with pine needles. I've never installed pine needles and I'm not sure what the proper way to install them is. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Shake it out real good, you don't want any clumps in it. You can use the backside of a leaf rake to lay it down flat if you want to. Roll the edges under (where the bed ends) or just use an edger to cut off the excess pine straw hanging out, clean it up and take off. Good luck.

    Well said, and I wouldn't worry about putting pinestraw over mulch, it shouldn't be a problem.
