What is this grassy weed

    just picked up this lawn and the customer wants me to get rid of this stuff. It is a blue grass / rye lawn

    could be dallisgrass.

    too cold up here in zone 5 for dallisgrass I think. Spring has just begun.

    i had the same problem last year....same exact thing. the guys here said it was crabgrass. it came from greenview kentucky seeds bag

    Crab grass hasn't even germinated here yet I dought thats it. May just be annual bluegrass.

    looks like orchardgrass or timothy, but hard to tell from pic. Either way round-up is probably the recipe. Could be Coarse fescue as well.

    I picked up a jug of Ornamec which is labled for quackgrass among others. I will spot treat the areas when we get some dry weather. Forcast has called for rain all week.

    Is Ornamec labeled for POST emergent control of Quack grass?
    It looks like Quack to me. I don't know of any selective product that controls Quack grass in cool season turf.
