what is this on the plants

    what is this fungus?,? it is growing on mostly azalias but there is some on boxwoods also. can it be cured and if so how. please help.

    Too out of focus.....

    Is it wet or dry?

    If wet, looking like foamy spit, spittle bugs.

    Eriococcus Azalea--Cottony bark scale.
    Too hard to really tell from those out of focus pictures.

    yeah, my cell phone takes crappy pics, its kinda grayish white, almost like peeling skin from a sunburn, it varies in size, growing on the bark, its dry to the touch (unless its raining) kinda rippeled around the edges. I will try for better pics with my dig cam tomorrow if it rains. I use to see it alot in Florida on trees but not on shrubs.
