What is this vile weed and how do I kill it?

I have this weed showing up in my St. Augistine yard and would like to find something that can kill it, short of pulling it. I can pull it if it is the only problem but the base is so large in areas that it leaves gaping holes where the weed was.

What would you recommend that the average homeowner put on this to kill it with minimal impact to the surrounding St. Augistine. Also what is the weed that is similar to clover that is around the top picture? When plucked it produces some sort of milky white liquid.

I think that if I can get these under control my yard will be better off, and can concentrate on the fungus that is in the soil that was due to builders drainage problems.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can't remember the name and even can't translate it if I remember it, but I think round up can kill it, or just remove it with roots and all.

Don't bother. Those clumping grasses will be overtaken by healthy St augustine because they are annuals. To identify it you have to let it grow seed heads. If you have drainage problems it's probably just as well to dig it all up and start over. If your lawn grass is not growing some weed will move in to fill the space.
