I have this grass/weed taking over my lawn... Can anyone identify it? It is really thick and the roots grow togeather but not down. I sprayed with Scotts weed and feed and now it is all dying?

Does the grass 'lay down' when it gets a bit longer??? Looks like a type of Bentgrass....but a weed and feed shouldnt have touched it. (Unlesss you stressed it to death) Is is pretty easy to pull up???

Looks like Emerold Zoysia in the photo. However if it died from a weed & feed that would not be it.

What did you spray and how much?

I go along with Bentgrass, hard to tell from the photo. bentgrass will stress out with herbicides

In the pic of you pulling it up, it looks like Bentgrass, but in the other it does look like annual blue.

Was 2,4-D an ingredient in the weed control? If so, it is likely bentgrass. Hard to tell just from photos. 2,4-D and other broadleaf weedkillers will stress bentgrass. I have seen Jul-Aug applications of weedkiller wipe out patches of bentgrass. Boy, I wish I had time to get the right timing and herbicides, would love to get rid of a lot of bent. LOL!

Many lawn herbicide labels warn to use only half rate on bentgrass.
