What offer actually worked - flyers

    Hey guys,
    Of all the offers you have put on your flyers and marketing throughout the years...

    What was the best offer you used to attract the most customers?

    We have been in business since 2005 and have alway just done
    " 4th mow free " as the offer.
    It works but not excellent.

    So what do you use that brings in good quality customers?

    I've always had a "5th cut free" deal going (I'd like to get at least a month or one invoice cycle in before they get something on the house). It works about as well as anything else. Of all the hangers and flyers I see around the DFW area, it seems that handing out the 4th or 5th or 8th or whatever cut free seems to be the norm as far as offers go. Even with a free cut coming so quickly it's hard to beat the $20 cut guys.

    Well their are many more legal ways to making money besides lawn care and having to worry about some $20lowballer. If you keep doing good work you shouldn't have to worry. I bet their thinking the same thing about other lowballers. If their equipment goes down or their trucks from not doing proper maintenance do you think its going to get fixed for free? Thats alot of lawns to cut for only 20 bucks to get that bill paid.

    I saw the guy from Citi turf tell customers he would do a great job and if you didn't think it was perfect...he would pay the lco of your choice to fix it. Pretty bold and effective I think.

    I don't offer anything for free, there are plenty out there that do, I just let my business reviews and good work speak for itself. I am not interested in the bargain shopper to begin with.

    Oh yeah! I forgot about the Citi Turf guy. I was actually doing a search a while ago because I was trying to remember what company I saw that did that.

    Do you think he's affected by those $20 guys? Doubt it. More than likely you get what you pay for. Some people sell price(you know you've seen them "we'll beat anyones price") others sell the experience. The minute you roll up to their house and they know your for real.

    I'm not sure you read my post correctly. I'm not scared of or affected by the $20 guys. I'm saying it's hard to create a legitimate offer that competes with the $20 guys. I'm with you. I sell my price point and my service.

    I'm not from TX like you guys but Citi Turf has a lot of videos on youtube, his website lawncaremillionaire.com that are quite informative. Great for a new guy or someone looking for refresher info.

    Just thought I'd chime in.
