I have a 34z gravely with a Kawasaki on it, I just read this article about using synthetics on all gas engines, is it bad for the mower? Jeez I hope not...

Absolutely, positively the best thing you can do for your lube system, IMHO. That, and start using very expensive oil filters, and preferably all foam air filter.

so after reading that link, its obvious that by using an amsoil oil filter thats absolutely efficient at 15 microns i can reduce abrasive engine wear by 70% compared to a 40 micron filter. and then reading that on the shelf oil filters are in the 30-40 micron range... we are talking about 60%-70% decreased abrasive engine wear!! so needless to say, i called amsoil, gave them my oil filter part # (kohler 52 050 02) and what do ya know! my amsoil part # is eao57. this is some great information from that link, thanks again, and im looking forward to a very looong lasting engine!
