I am starting out next year in lawn care and am wondered if I could get your opinion on the size of territory I should market to? Could you tell me the number of miles away from your home base you guys service. I am imagining there is a point where you spend too much time traveling for it to be practical and profitable.

Thanking you in advance for your input and help.

What income do you want-- How many properties will it take to produce the income you need. (Figure your income about 30% of the total service income if solo). What percent of the market do you plan on getting? LetÂ’s say you need 75 lots and there are 1500 homes within a mile of your shop and you plan on 10% of the homes-- you need to go out about 3/4 miles.
It all depends on what you need-- what you plan to sell, and the property density of your area.
