In these dry months when I can not cut as often, the Johnson grass just takes off like little trees everywhere. Then when I do cut I have to go very slow or go over twice. Is there a solution to this problem? Will the Gator blades or similar help? I run a Bobcat 48 WB. Mabey the deck is just not long enough from leading to trailing edge.

I have switched form gators to super high lift blades and I have seen a big difference. The gators are great for fall mulching of leaves but I am liking the super high lifts for the rest of the season....

What brand are they? I have the high lift gators and they work good. But I'm always looking for something better.

you may want to find a rope wick and apply roundup on the johnston grass.
that is what i did on my field where i had bemuda grass for hay. it worked real well.
