I found a 97 ford ranger with 167,000 on it...the guy said no less the 2600. Is that to many miles for a truck this size??? Its a 4 with a 5 speed 2 wd with a lift kit on it i think a 3inch with a body kit also...does anyone know anything about these small trucks with that many miles???

What has he done to the motor ? What has he replaced ? Mechanical things wear which means they eventually will wear out. Find out a few more things and the decision will be a little easier. Without any other info 167,00 miles is a lot on those little trucks.Towns that have Rangers start gettin' rid of them around 75k-100k miles. There's probably a reason for it. Here's a link to Govdeals. Should come up for Rangers. If not try advanced search.

I've got a 96 ranger 4cyl. 5spd. 2wd w/169k miles that still runs pretty strong, if the guy put a lift kit on it and such you never know what he put the truck through, even so $2600 still seems a bit much. Test drive it and give it a solid look over or get a mech. to look it over.
