Every summer when I mow you see bugs flying all over the place. I just trying to figure out what I need to be doing to my yard in june and july.

Did the insects do damage in the past? If not, why put something down to kill benefical insects as well as soil biology?

It's common to see sod webworm adult moths when you mow in the summer. They can fly decent distances and most likely didn't come from your yard. Another thing, the adult moths do not feed and will not cause any damage.

If you think you need a Merit application for grubs and other insects, look into it. If need be, hire a professional to put it down for you and water it in immediately.
