Can someone give me some suggestions on what machines work best for cutting steep hill. As of now, at my place of work, I just use weed whackers. It takes way to long and it beats up the grass.

Are there any mowers that are made for this?

How big of an area? how steep?

    there are hovermowers,
    walkbehind hydro mowers,
    trimmer mowers,
    articulating mowers,
    wing ditch mowers,
even lome low profile Ztr mowers

If the hills are real steep, I use either a string trimmer or a Lawn-Boy 21". Lawn-Boys are lightweight, which makes them easy to hold on a hill, and they're also 2 cycles, which keeps the motor well lubricated when the mower is at an extreme angle.

Like Paul said, there are other options, but if you're not doing a lot of steep slopes, then it's hard to justify the cost for a dedicated hill machine.

I agree with RickJones on the 21" Lawnboy. Nice and light and reasonably priced. I have one and its been a real good machine for slopes. I know many other people who have had good luck with this mower.

I do exactly like Rick jones. I bought a Lawnboy to use on steep ditches only.

Here's an idea of how steep the hills are. There are couple acres like this.

I prefer belt drive for a walk behind on a steep hill, it is much lighter.

For a couple acres of steep hill like that maybe a three wheel rider would do the trick best
