what tranny oil for exmark tthp?

    it calls for mobil 1 15w-30 motor oil transmition use.

    i have some Amsoil 5w-30 transmition oil. can i put that in there?

    If it calls for mobil1 15w-50, why not use that?

    No... Hell no. Putting tranny oil in really would be a grass disaster.

    so it uses motor oil?

    or does it use transmission oil?

    Yes, Mobil 1 Synthetic 15W 50 Motor Oil. Hope this helps.

    seems strange that i would put engine oil in a hydraulic transmission

    grass, that is what eXmark calls for so I would not do anything different, or else you'll be spending more than a few $ on just oil, it'll be more like a few thousand $'s on repairs.

    i'm sure it wouls be fine if i put in the amsoil 15w-30 motor oil, instead of mobil 1.

    If the Amsoil is a Synthetic oil then you should be fine.

    I use Amsoil in my Scag hydros that call for 20W50---no problems at all. I wasn't aware Amsoil had the "15w50" in their product line that Exmark and Toro calls for ..I knew they carried "15w40".
