I'm trying to match up a few spots on my yard. Any ideas as to what type of grass this is? I'm in northern MA if that helps.

I'd check with your local Agricultural Extension office to be sure.If that's not available maybe the Lawn and Garden store might have an idea.If there's a Lesco store in your area they are very good resources.Hope this helps,Richard

I'm not the best at this, but it looks like Fine Fescue. The best thing to do though is to go to your County Extension Office or a Local Lesco as mentioned.

Some locals around here have also suggested fine fescue. I'm going to stick with this for now until I can get to the extension office.

    Thanks for the help.

It does look like fine fescue to me - if so, when you plant it, it will look much finer and sometimes doesn't stand up straight but looks like a bad hair day until it starts maturing - be patient for a few months.
