Is is possible to repaint the muffler on a 14HP Kohler? I assume it's gotta be a high temp paint. Any suggestions?

Special Muffler Paint. Just kidding. I think that you should be able to use some flat black stove paint. Comes in a spray can, but of course DO NOT spray it while the muffler is hot. I get the ol' wood stove plenty hot, and only need to repaint after several years.

I bought some high temp 1200 degree black spray paint last night at Home Depot. Can says it's good for wood stoves, BBQ grills, and radiators. I'm going to wire brush the muffler, and lightly sand it, then wipe it down with mineral spirits and give it a light spray with this stuff. I'll wait a day or two before I use the mower, so I know it's good and dry, The mower has been sitting since last Sunday so it's good and cold also. I wouldn't try this on a warm muffler.
Think it is a good plan? I hope so.

Turned out really nice. No smoke, and it looks brand new. Thanks for the advice.
