Hello all. I was looking around and saw Shindiawa, Makita, Red Max, Echo trimmers availabe in my area. I have read other post here and most post like the Stihl weed eaters. I am leaning toward either the Makita or Shindiawa. Which one will last me the longest.

The shin . They last forever. Had mine over 3 years, starts on the first pull. T-270 and leave your edger at home.

Have used Shins that were more than 10 years old. Can't go wrong with the best.

What should I expect to pay for this weed eater?

I paid $400.00 for mine. Probably still somewhere around that price.

How quick and easy is it to restring the Shindiawa?

That was my next question. And what about the weight of the 270. I have two yards that require at least 45 min of trim time.

Depending on the head you get, but all are very simple to restring. The weight isn't bad at all on my 270, considering the power and the fact that I don't have to swing it around as much as one with less power. I trim for hours at a time at times.

I can run my T-260 at full throtle cutting down high weeds and grass with trimmer line and it will not bog down.
