To supply and lay 23 bags of pine bark and plant 14- 3 gal plants that the customer supplied?
Here's what I would do:
Pine bark around here is $3.50/bag if im not mistaken. double the per bag price and that is what you charge to install. Charge for p/u and delivery, and charge a labor rate to install the plants supplied by customer.
23 bags @ $7/bag=$161+tax
p/u delivery=$30-$45 depending on how far you need to drive.
14 3 gal. plants. let's say 2 hours of labor @$50/hour=$100.
That's how i would do it. Do you have to remove any old plants???
No removal just install plants......I charged 240.00 for the job the bark here is $1.95 per bag. I usualy charge 15.00 per 3 gal when we supply them he already had them I didn't want him to think I was ripping him off and look bad, he's a new customer.
Wow, what a big difference in price for the pine bark.
Your price sounds right to me then. That is what I would have charged. If it's a couple of plants and not a big install, i don't mind the customer picking the stuff out, especially if they supply mulch/pine bark b/c its not like your making a killing from WS to retail.
