went and got some prices today for an 48" exmark walk behind

    turf tracer hp

he has a 2004 from last year that he wants $5099 it has a 17 horse kawi electric start

he can order me a 2005, which now come with a 19 horse kawi elcetric start. he wants $5599 for that one

i will not be using this mower every day i am mostly buying it cause it would be lighter than my zd18. on some of the new sod jobs the z gets a little heavy. i would also use it on some of my smallest lawns.

The difference with tax comes to $530 what would you do.

Is that all that they changed from 04?

I priced the same exact walk behind. Basically the dealer told me that there really was no change between 2004 exmark and 2005. He told me it was the same engine different sticker. I ended up going with a SCAG. There was no difference in an 04 & 05 in price just a few modifications. I paid basically $1000 dollars less.

    Very Happy

I would look at a Hustler WB before making a final decision.

I've got a Hustler Z and it's a very tough mower. Well built and very stable on steep slopes. I've seen the Hustler walk behinds and they are very beefy mowers with plenty of power. I'm not sure about pricing on the WB's but Hustler ZTR's are usually lower priced than comparable Exmark ZTR's. When I bought my Hustler Z in 2003 the dealer was $600 lower than the Exmark dealer was on a Lazer Z HP with the same deck size and engine size.

    2004 exmark lazer z hp #1 $6350.00 #2 $6850 # 3 $7100 thats a big difference
