Not to worry. Check out the archived thread of the Q&A with Ken Hutcheson, President of U.S. Lawns, and the LawnSite community in the Franchising forum .

Sub contractor data base set up by state or region.
Or even a directory based on location. I like to network with the mowing and sprinkler guys around me since i dont do that stuff
Why doesn't EVERYONE have their location (even if they're lying) under their Join Date?
Some folks have nothing...NOTHING in this space. What good are they to anyone...their opinion basically means nothing if there's no origin.
My Pet Peeve. DUPLICATE POSTS! Different threads that essentially discuss the same subject. Thus one thread may draw potential comments away from another on the same topic! For instance, there are 2 (at least) threads going right now, inquiring on what is the best work boot to buy. It would be nice if all these "same subject" threads could "cross-reference" one another!
I agree. A filter of sorts again using key words can all but eliminate this repetition. Of course the same members that continue to post in the inappropriate forums continue to take up valuable thread space to
once again make their points known. It has been suggested that theses post can be removed from individual members accounts by simply sending an email requesting as much.
If the same can be done for the habitual posters who have no actual apparent ties to this industry that would truly be fantastic. The benefit for the web-site, it's membership, and Sponsors could prove to be a very powerful motivation going forward.
Add the start date to the thread
User who started thread - date thread was started
Create a listing of dump sites by state or county.
The viewer has complete control over this already. Just don't view the thread. It's that simple.
If one feels they are wasting their time viewing topics not of their choosing I suggest they use a little self control when viewing. You can lead a horse to water but you can't force him to click on a thread he doesn't want to read. I view but don't post in politics for a reason.
As far as a like button goes, I choose NOT to belong to Facebook for a number ofreasons and that's one of them.
I belong to a number of forums that I wish were more like LS. Some of these forums require moderation review before posting replies. Try keeping a conversation going with one day to a weeks pause.
About the downtime between pm posts. Gimme a break, the forum allows one to send pm's to multiple usernames by separating them with a comma.
The majority of these suggestions have been addressed by the mods in one way or another, at one time or another.
I have my gripes and/or suggestions but I realize that most have been addressed in one way or another at one time or another. LS does a great job, sure, things could be changed but would they be for the better.
If there's one thing that needs addressing it's spell check. Everybody needs to use it. It's already a feature but how many members are using it? Not many.
Again I have to commend the mods, they walk a slippery slope daily and once in a while could use a hand. The membership should moderate themselves. We're adults afterall.
Btw. I have no issues posting the same pic multiple time through photobucket. It just c&p.

Actually the person posting in the wrong or incorrect forum has complete control. I understand that there are a number of members that really contribute
nothing more than an echo chamber for their own egos.
It is a pity that through indifference the members of this site are forced to ignore threads by other members that have no actual interest in this industry other than using other forums as a sounding board.
Could these members actually post their threads where appropriate?. Yes.
Would it help the site over all if they could respect the other members opinions say on this thread. Yes.
Will they?. Not sure.
It has been suggested that if any member would like to have their contact information removed from other members that post in other forums that involve Religion, or Politics or even in a separate forum know as "off topic"
they only need to send an email to Lawnsite.com and they will no longer have to view these threads. Seems to me that turn about should be fair play and any and all threads created and posted incorrectly should be rerouted in the same manor, where the author should and chooses not to for reasons stated above. I really do believe that for the long term continued success of this site
that the owners consider the suggestions posted to this thread and make good on said suggestions to make this site better for all members.
Another suggestion, A user Rating for Equipment. Based on Member opinion and actual use.
yes we are listening to all suggestions and will make some changes as well...one point regarding the comment just made from easy-lift guy...removing a members access to a certain forum is one setting in the database that can be adjusted, however, setting up filters as you suggest to re-route threads by specific members, etc. is a completely different thing and not as easily accomplished
again, thanks for all suggestions and we are taking note of those for sure and will let you know when changes, adjustments and any suggestions made are done
