I have read in a few posts on here about sticking with the C series of CAT mini x's. Can someone tell me what year those machines started? I'm interested in the 303cr. Also the good and bad of those machines. Thanks again

The 303CR is not a C series mini. I believe it was 2006 when the first C series minis hit the ground, but I could be incorrect. Either way, it's easy to tell the difference between a 303CCR and a 303CR.

More horsepower is the main difference, angle blade is an option, aux. hydraulic control is now on the right hand joystick where it should be straight from the factory, boom swing left/right is controlled on the left hand joystic via a slider, the ROPS is now 2 post giving a nice view of everything in front of the machine. It's a whole different machine, I hear the C series minis have a lot more bark. My dad has a 303CR and he likes it, not a bad machine, but the 303CCR has another 8 or 9 horses I believe. Both are Mitsubishi motors, my dad's has been good to him, 700 hours going strong.

2006 is the best guess for the CR's, I remember throwing a 305CR on my trailer at the dealership, and it was only a year after I bought my '05 F450.

You guys need to clarify which series you're talking about. The non-C's (303CR, 304CR, 305CR) came out in '03 I believe, maybe even '02. Before that, all you could get was traditional tail machines (303.5, 304.5). The C series minis (303CCR, 303.5CCR, 304CCR, 305CCR) we released in '06 I'm pretty sure.

Just because there's a C in there doesn't make it a C series. They all say CR on the side, CR stands for compact radius, so unless there are 2 C's on the side of the machine, it's the older series. Just thought I'd throw that out there, a lot of guys get confused.

They came out in late 2005 (and were released into early 2006).

No problem. Just don't want guys to get confused, I know people throw the model numbers around without verifying the correct series.
