I'm loving mine. Plenty of pulling power. More than enough actually. Plus it has one heck of a sound coming out of them pipes. I get about 220 on a tank so It's not great but it's one heck of a motor. Highly reccommended

that very well may be, but it's still a tough little truck. it's also very impressive a 4 cylinder diesel made it to the north pole, a first for a road going vehicle.

    payloads (in kg):

V8s (especially most american v8s) are overrated. turbocharge a nice 6 cylinder and get just as much out of it, real world, and turbocharge a 4 cylinder and get as much as a 6.

If you like stopping at the gas station every other day get one. Ive got one Id love to sell but have already got a plow on it and its just to much headache to take that crap off.

I love the way the truck rides, has plenty of power and the 4 wheel disk brakes are bad ASS on these trucks but I drive that dam thing as easy as I can pulling my 16ft enclosed loaded and I get 7-8 mpg. Now that is all country and town driving. No highways.

I bought a 97 f350 single rear wheel with the 7.3 diesel and it was a freakin lemon when I first got it but after I got the bugs worked out its getting 13-14 mph on that same route getting dam near twice the fuel mileage as the 6.0 chevy. Now the chev gets moved around the driveway but only because of the fuel mileage. Id rather drive the chevy 6.0 any day for the comfort, reliability, and braking power but Im tired of stopping at the fuel mart up the road and putting 90 bucks worth of fuel in it every 2 days.

haha get a smaller vehicle... thats funny. I have three one tons and I already overload them very frequently.

    99 F350 7.3 18.5 empty, 13 loaded up with everything i need.

    2002 5.4 12.5 empty and around 8 loaded up

Used a 6.0 chevy for about a month, 11-12 empty and 6-7 loaded up, but I gotta say, it did have a noticable difference in power from the ford 5.4

2002 Silverado 2500HD 6.0 gasser with the 4.10 rear end. I have no idea and don't really care what my gas mileage is. I like the truck and it does what it needs to and there's not much I can do about the mileage, so I don't even bother to check it. It uses a lot of gas and the harder it works the more it uses. But it has a big tank so it's all good. :)

I agree with darryl gesner. get a truck you like that does the job you want it to the way you want it to. I've driven my dad's 95 dakota and my boss's 2003 silverado 1500 qs v8. my dad's truck makes a terrible work truck, as it just doesn't have the power, or brakes, and the ride isn't that nice. my boss's 1500 is a NICE truck. I could see driving one every day. the qs is a plow truck, so the suspension is beefier, but it's still comfortable, drives more like a car than my dad's truck, doesn't bog down with a load in the bed, and as mentioned, it has the brakes to stop you no matter WHAT.

yours isn't quad steer, also, is it? quad steer is quite a nice feature, it adds so much stability to the truck, and gives it a nice turning radius.

also, chevies do het pretty good gas mileage, in general, under load. I got 15MPG out of a 12000LB payload moving truck loaded to the top, and 10 out of a 20 foot moving truck loaded to the top towing my car. both chevy vortex engines.

    02 f450 gets 12 loaded or unloaded
    05 f150 gets 17unloaded 15 loaded
    10 f350 gets 22 unloaded 14 loaded
they all do the job they make money on fuel being burned.
