The current one is not working properly and may need to replace it. I have five zones so what would you recommend?

Orbit makes good "timers"... many other manufacturers make good "controllers". :)

Personally, I really like the Rainbird ESP-M. However you will need to buy a module to expand it to 8 zones when you get it, since it only ships with a 4 zone module.

Ditto, I like the ESPs as well. But the expanding module will bump it to 7 zones not 8.

Doh, your right. 4 zones on the first, 3 on the second.

Wonder if Jon had to use his toes to help count?

  10. Here is my two cents worth. I was using the ESP modular but now use the Weathermatic Smartline with the weather monitor. Well worth investigating even though I'd recommend you get a professional to install and set up.
