Hi, I have a problem with creeping charlie,(I think it's called ground ivy??). I have tried a concentrate called "Weed-Out",but this stuff doesn't seem to faze it.I have tried raking it up, but this is too much work,as I have an acre of grass.I have tried Scott's Turf Builder Plus 2, which is supposed to take care of any weeds. It seemed to do a job on the dandelions, but not this "charlie" stuff.I would like to use something that will not kill what grass there is, but do a number on this ground-ivy.Any suggestions would be a great help, thanks,Keith(Canada):)

Try Kilex or Tri-kil. (both are the same ingredients).
I have had success with these but it usually takes 2 or 3 applications over the season

I've had excellent control of ground ivy w/ Lesco Mometum herbicide
mixed w/ their spreader/sticker. Ohio State Univer. did a study on
ground ivy control and found 2-4D seemed to give best control.
Momentum has around 50% 2-4D. ED

    "Creeping Charlie?"

My dad tells me a Stoner machine gun and frag grenads always did the job for him and his buddies. What's that? wrong charlie. Never mind.

    2,4-D Doen't touch creeping charlie.

What kills it is the Triclopyr and Clopyralid in the Momentum.

Spraying straight Confront will be more cost-effective if you're controlling just creeping charlie.

I don't know what 2-4D products you have used or what rates you have
used, but I do know in my experiences that Momentum at a 4 pint per
acre rate WILL take out ground-ivy & its the 2-4D that does the work.

Yes! Confront will have it curlin' by nightfall. If you need a sticker because of rainfall for 48 hours try R-11. Crossbow also will knockdown thick broadleaf,I like it in the fall. Then there's Garlon.....

Of course Momentum works, because of the Triclopyr & Clopyralid.

The 2,4-D in it is for other weeds, particularly the simple stems.

    2,4-D doesn't touch Creeping Charlie.

    Try Napalm.

    Great on Weeds......Tough on Neighbors.

If that doesn't work, try and convince the customer the many advantages to having a lawn of creeping charlie. :)
