I have just dropped a small tree in one of my clients yards and am left with the gaping hole of where the stump used to be. what technique do you prefer to fill the hole/plant seed. in the past i have just mixed up dirt with the seeds of the respected grass seed in a large bucket and applied to the hole. however, this does not always come out looking as good as i would like.

how about leveling the soil , and putting down a piece of sod to fit, my sod depot is just a mile down the road and I can buy it for 1-2.00 yard depending on quantity. almost cheaper that messing around with seed and weed seeds ...:clapping:

Make sure to compact the soil until you hit the top few inches. Spread seed on top, rake in gently, water often (customer's responsibility--make sure they know) and you're good to go.

    Good luck.
