Today a dealer told me the only difference was the 27hp Kawi had the rpm's turned up higher by 200rpms....
I can't find the specs to compare torque etc. Can anyone verify this ?
    Thanks

Oftentimes the differences are carb jetting, camshaft and other things. 200 RPM is not going to add 2 HP.

The Kaw 21 through 25 all share the same block and engine size.

The Kawasaki FH721V 25 hp engine has a displacement of 675cc. The FX751V 27 hp engine has a displacement of 852cc. Two completely different engines. In horizontal shafts the FH721D is 675cc. They do not offer a 27 hp, but do have a 28 hp. The FH770D 28 hp is 764cc. Sounds like your dealer doesn't know what he's talking about.

I couldn't find the specs on the fx751V that you mention above maybe they don't make that one anymore. I was told that Gravely mowers had both the 25 and 27hp Kawi in last yrs model. The dealer is bringing me a 260 with the 25 Kawi. I wasn't sure if this was enough power, so he proceeded to tell me what he heard the difference was between the two. But I can't find an air cooled 27hp Kawasaki listed on the Kawi website so maybe your right they don't offer it. Thanks for the info.

The FX751V 27 hp is actually new and it is the same block as the new FX801V 29 hp and FX850 31 hp. Kawasaki does have 25 hp and 27 hp water cooled horizontal shaft engines. These two engines do use the same block and both are 745 cc displacement.

The 27 hp and 31 hp are the new FX751V and FX850V engines.

Kawasaki currently offers 21 hp, 23 hp, and 25 hp in a 675 cc block. These are the FH641V, FH680V and FH721V. That's as close as it gets to the "specs" above.

They are currently working on new mid hp engines of the FX series which will be 726 cc and be rated at 22 hp, 24 hp and 26 hp, but these engines are not yet available.

The engine on the Deere Z-Trak won't even be needed very often. It will stay in the shop or sit behind the shop waiting for parts.

Get a good motor in your backup mower. You'll need it.

My Z830a lemon has had 3 deck belts, 4 transmission belts, a broken deck holding eye bolt, and a broken deck lift pedal bushing, all in under 100 hours.

How reliable are the air cooled Kawasaki engines and how good is the fuel mileage? My L/C Kawi is great 1gph. Thanks for the info !

Throttle cable snapped. Probably another made in China part like the Chinese made John Queer brand belts.
