what do you guys think is better? Not so good looking equipment thats cheap, or making payments to the bank for the fine looking equipment.

As long as the equipment works as designed, I'd rather have slightly older equipment, higher maintenance, but lower overhead than shiney new. New gets to looking old too quick and old can be made to look nice with a good cleaning and some paint. Don't get me wrong though, I don't want equipment that looks terrible.

I would buy a new mower as long as the mower that you buy will pay for it self and make your life easier. however, I would use old equipment until I could buy my new mower cash. I just don't feel comfortable taking out financing because then I will always worry that if I loose that next account(s) will I have to decide between eating or paying the bank.
