When is the best time to apply pre-emergent herbicide to a lawn???

    When is the best time to apply Pre-emergent herbicide to a lawn??? Are there any tips or tricks you know about applying them? Thanx

    Funny but true. Some can be put down in the fall, early spring, later spring, at time of planting new turf, etc. Have to read the label for the individual product to find out what it controls, & when to apply it to control that weed. Tips & tricks - read the label to know exactly how & when to apply. Get help from your supplier or local ag extension office. This applies to the other post too ;)

    we apply pre emergents jsut before the warm up in th3e spring, around march1-15, this completely depends on the weather. right now here it is still frigid when we have soem early green up around this time in past seasons, but not too late as to not let the weeds start growing. It takes a little walking over a few places to get a feel in the beginning of the year. but that is me
