I have never slice seeded before but one of my properties is perfect for this, when is the right time to do this? The ground has just thawed out and the grass is brown and coming around to green. The soil is a bit moist. How long till I should slice seed?

I don't know your climate that well but I would say you could do this very soon.

I've only done one slit seeding job In my life and that was late last fall. I'm really curious how it will come this spring. I'll be checking it out in a few weeks.

    Good luck with the job.

The best time to slice-seed a lawn is in early fall, that is when you would get the best results from doing it.
If you do it in the spring, the root system will not have a chance to get good and strong before the heat of summer comes and kills it.

I have done hundreds of slit seeds in the spring and never have lost one. I would think your time is coming soon in Maine. I am doing mine now. good luck, Mike
