when to cut....

    My existing lawn is getting long 4", but i have a lot of new seed down...should i mow around it?? what about the clippings getting into the new beds??

    Has the new seed popped up yet? 4"...sounds like It needs to be cut...be gentle on the turns...Not sure ...post a pic It will help.
    As far as the grass In the beds....try not to get grass In there

    new grass is only .5 to an 1", old grass getting long

    Mow when it is dry to minimize damage to new grass. If you let the old grass get too long you will start to shade out the seedlings.

    psuturf is right, you need to mow, but be careful make sure its dry and bag the old grass if you can
