For most of my accounts I aerated with a core aerator and put down fertilizer in the fall. Now that spring is coming what is best to put down to control weeds and also make the lawn thicken and green up? Also when is the best time to do this? Mid April? What can i do to a yard that is full of bare spots?

Check with your states county extension. If you are putting down pre emergent and you are licensed, be careful what you apply if you try to overseed the bare spots this spring. Most pre emergents stop any grass trying to grow from seed. I have seen people many a time apply pre emergent when the soil temps get over 55, then try to overseed a month later.
