I've been dabbling into irrigation repairs just long enough to be dangerous.
A client had a power transformer get hit by lightning the other night.

It left one zone remain on constantly.
Turned off main valve and had to cut wire to solenoid to stop the chatter.
Controller has no display even after installing a new 9 volt battery.
I am getting a reading of 18 volts instead of 24 - 28 volts from the transformer in the controller.

Do I need a new circuit board?
    A new controller transformer?
Is part # 429600 (front Panel) involved in any way or is it just the piece that the main PCB is mounted to?
Where can I get these parts for this ICC 800?

    Thanks for the help

Might be less expensive to replace the controller. You get a new warranty that way too.

we had a similar issue last month, it is cheaper to replace the whole unit, a bonus is you get the extra parts from the old unit if any of them were still good.
