I plan on buying a 52" ztr. I have narrowed my choices to an Exmark Lazer Z or a Toro Z Master. The Exmark would cost $6700 plus tax and the Toro $6300 p/t. The Toro also comes wiyh a 25 hp Kohler and the Exmark with a 23 hp Kaw. I have researched this subject and found threads from last year, Can anyone give me updated opinions since the Toro's have been changed? What's good and bad about the two?

I have a Laser with the 23 Kaw. The engine is every bit as powerful as the 25 Kohler, if not better!! I have run both, I would not get the 25 Kohler over the 23 Kaw. As for the rest of the machine, I have beat it bad. It still runs perfect and still cuts perfect. My vote is exmark all the way.

Go with the Exmark. I bought a 52" Lazer HP with the Ultravac last year and love it. Toro doesn't have a vac system like the Ultravac. The Ultravac is great for fall leaf cleanup's and grass bagging all season. I think the Exmark deck has the better cut of the two also. :) ;) :) ED

Bad things can occur with the 25 Kohler. Do a search, you'll find out what I'm talking about. Go for the Kawi!

Thanks for the imput. I'll be purchasing the Exmark this coming week. Exmark's reputation and the Kawasaki engine tipped the scales for me.
  6. My two cents worth would be a lazer,Dixie chopper, Farris or a derby. All four are great units .I would stay away from away from some others . But the most important part is your dealer and does he have loaners. My Dealer will come and deliver me a loaner on a job site if my should break down.
